Ramen is a dish of Chinese origin introduced to the Japanese people many years ago. Today, you can find various types of ramen sold throughout the U.S., from premium restaurant versions to the household microwave noodles. One of my favorite ramen restaurants in Southern California is Foo-Foo-Tei in Hacienda Heights, CA. The bowl I like to order is rich, creamy and flavorful: Nanchatte Tonkotsu Ramen. This ramen bowl includes tender pork meat, hand-pulled noodles, and other vegetables that make it a delicious treat to eat! The rich and creamy soup from pork bone marrow gives the ramen its distinctive taste. I usually order additional chashu (pork meat) for an extra price. The bowls they serve are large, so finishing the entire meal will be a challenge for some people. Their juicy chicken wings compliment the taste of the ramen; they saturate the chicken in marinade that penetrates flavor to the bone, making it soft, tender and delicious. You will be spending about $9.00-$12.00 for a satisfying meal, and I suggest going on a weekday to avoid the rush. The servers are cordial, quick and friendly. You will enjoy your ramen experience here!
